Stavroula Beleri is a graduate of the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Athens (1991) and also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the National School of Public Health (2009). Since 2018, she is a PhD Candidate of the Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Thessaly (in progress). From 2007 to 2019 she belonged to the permanent staff of the Department of Parasitology, Entomology and Tropical Diseases, National School of Public Health (NSPH). She actively participated in both research and educational work of the Department, working in the Medical Entomology Laboratory. Since May 7th, 2019 (when the NSPH was merged with the University of West Attica as the Department of Public Health Policy) she is a member of the academic community of the University of West Attica. She belongs to the Lab Technical Staff of the Department of Public Health Policy, School of Public Health, and also to the research team of the Laboratory for the Surveillance of Infectious Diseases (LSID), in which she has been appointed to the Medical Entomology Units. Her main research interests focus on issues of Medical Entomology, concerning Arthropods of public health significance (with particular emphasis on the study of mosquitoes) and the vector-borne diseases. She has several presentations in national and international scientific conferences and publications in international scientific journals. She has participated in research projects and has attended several conferences, seminars and workshops related to her field of study. She is an active member of two international scientific societies.
