Psychologist and Special Educator


Dr. Miltiadis Karvounis is a Psychologist and Special Educator with many years of clinical and educational experience in positions of responsibility. He holds degrees in Psychology, Pedagogy, and Political Science from the University of Athens, specialized in Counseling in Munich, Germany, and completed his postgraduate studies with a PhD from the University of Ioannina. Since 2006, he has been independently teaching the courses “Psychometrics,” “Personality Psychology,” “Educational Psychology,” and “Special Education” in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Greece and abroad. He is the author of scientific books, and his articles have been published in Greek and international scientific journals. He speaks German and English. As a Psychologist, he has served as an external collaborator at the Attica Child Psychiatric Hospital, the Counseling Service of the Municipality of Dionysos, and the research center “Demokritos.” He has developed, standardized, and published the psychometric tool FOTADYS 5-8, which is used both as a screening test in clinical practice and for research or teaching purposes in higher education institutions in the country. He represented the Ministry of Education in the National Mechanism for Monitoring Children’s Rights from 2020 to 2021, and in December 2024, he was appointed Vice President of the National Center for Social Solidarity (E.K.K.A) with an emphasis on issues of child protection, psychosocial support, and family counseling.
