Marietta Kontarini is an Hygienist-Veterinarian, Microbiological Food  Analyst and studies Food Safety, Sustainable  Diets, Good Waste, Climate Crisis,  Zoonoses,  Foodborne diseases and HACCP at National School of Public Health, which joint West Attica University (2019). She specialized as Microbiological Food analyst (2010-2011). HACCP- trainer (2001-2002). She studied Veterinarian 1979-1986 at Veterinary School of Aristotelian University Thessaloniki, Hygieinologist veterinarian 1987-1988 at National School of Public Health, Athens .

Her work experience was gained by teaching Food safety, foodborne diseases and zoonoses as scientific assistant at National School of Public Health in Postgraduate Education Programs in Veterinary Public Health Department, since April 1990. She also worked as Director of Inspections and Director of Education at Hellenic Food Authority (30/10/2000 -31/08/2003), gaining great experience in coordinating  and directing the inspections at all stages of food production, as well as in training auditors and food handlers and other professionals. She occupied in EU-JAMRAI, an  Europenean Programme of Joint Action for Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Infections.

 She also worked as a food analyst at Central Laboratory of Public Health, Ministry of Health, Athens, practicing Food and Water microbiological tests. Furthermore she worked as consultant at General Secretarial of Hellenic Ministry of Health (2013-2015). She works at University of West Attica, School of Public Health, Department of Public Health Polices as Educational and Laboratory Stuff ( EDIP 2019).
